• Q: "Is this mattress safer for my baby than foam.

  A: lets take the hardest question first! All crib mattresses that are sold in the U. K. have to conform to strict British standards to ensure they are safe and non-toxic. Foam, ground breaking synthetic fabrics and metal springs are used extensively throughout millions of everyday products.
  
  These components may be able to offer better or the same durability, heat transference, breathability etc, but their benefits are created by technical innovations, the Natural Moses basket mattress has these benefits naturally.

  Q: Why is is mattress so much cheaper than your competitors is it as good?

  A: Well we feel it is much better because we have included a very expensive second cover called "OUTLUX" which is both breathable and waterproof. Sure we can be dearer but our policy is to offer the best quality for less money and despatch it to you immediately.

  Q: "Is my baby well supported on this mattress?"

  A: Yes top quality coir offers great support, the coir is firm but the wool topping makes it feel luxurious as well as the brushed cotton cover

  Q: "What will prevent bacterial growth?"

  A: All experts say that for a healthy sleeping environment there should be no bacterial growth in the mattress. Many conventional mattresses have all sorts of safeguards in place to prevent bacteria getting to the core.

  Q: "Is it easy to wash the mattress"?

  A: The Natural Start Moses basket mattress has 2 covers both are breathable and can be removed and washed at 60ºC.

  Q: "Can I use any bedding with The Natural Start crib mattress"

  A: Yes most standard sheets will fit the mattress, to be honest if you are going down the natural route and investing serious money in a NaturalStart mattress then we can only advise that you keep in the natural mode and use our organic cotton sheets, or go the whole hog and go for our fited or flat bamboo sheets, they are gorgeous.

  Q:"I heard that many years ago there was a scare about antimony and phosphorus in cot and crib mattresses".

  A: Yes there was, you are right, and we have dealt with this topic in some detail our main FAQ's but this never ever applied to natural cot mattresses or any of the components used.

  Q: "Does the NaturalStart feel as soft as a conventional mattress?"

  A: Actually it is softer for feel because of the brushed cotton and wool but the coir is very supportive and firm perfect for a newborn baby.

  Q: "Do all the components in The Natural Start crib mattress help breathability and airflow?"

  A: Yes. exactly this is a big plus against some conventional mattresses, every single component, fabric covers, lambswool , and coir being natural allow throughput of air.

  Q: "What happens if something goes wrong with the NaturalStart?"

  Q: "Will it be as durable as a foam mattress or flatten?"

  A: Yes certainly as durable as any Moses basket mattress,

  Q: "What happens to the urine or vomit that might have gone inside the mattress.

  A: This is unlikley with "Outlux" fabric but in the very very unlikely event that urine get past the nappy then past what the baby is wearing and then through the sheet and then through the waterproof cover and then the cotton calico cover and into the mattress.
  
  If this ever happens, then just wash both the covers at 60°c and let the mattress air naturally, replace the covers and your mattress is as good as new. As there are no chemicals for the urine to react with, then there is no danger of any form of gas (toxic or otherwise) that will be generated with NaturalStart components.

  Q: "Do I dispose of The Natural Start Moses basket mattress differently to a conventional mattress"

  A: Oh yes, this must be one of the key reasons for buying The Natural Start Moses basket mattress and that is the benefit to the earths resources. every component is recyclable and every component is naturally grown, from the coir to the lambs wool from the local sheep.

  Q: Do you make bespoke Natural Start Moses basket mattresses any shape and size?

  A: NO sorry, we have to end on a negative here, in order to maintain the price we need to make NaturalStart in large quantities , if we made just one of these it would treble the price and take 4 weeks and we are into next day delivery where possible.
