The hypoallergenic Safeguard has been designed and produced specifically to satisfy your every safety concern:-

The Safeguard will stop fluids getting to the mattress core and prevent any contamination of the foam and subsequently prevent any manufacture of gases.

The combination of materials used, coupled with the latest design technology ensures the Safeguard will give the same support as any sprung mattress: The Safeguard offers complete reassurance as well as a luxury feel and firm support to head, back, neck and legs.

The foam is sealed in PU (not PVC), a thin layer of air is trapped between the foam and the PU, this combination to affords excellent support.

The PU core protecter will not allow any fluids to reach the foam core and the surface can be wiped clean easily with an anti -bacterial cleaner like Milton.

The centre core has a main cover which is removable and breathable and also highly water resistant This main cover has a zip around three sides and is easily removable for washing at 60°c.

Sitting on top of the main cover is the Maxi -Space luxury topper, Maxi space is like lying on thousands of tiny bubbles of air, it gives maximum breathability and comfort and will help wick away heat.

This Maxi - Space topper is held on with a zip that goes completely round the 4 sides of the mattress, making the cover easy to remove for washing at 60°c. A spare luxury Maxi- Space topper is supplied.

Change the topper as often as needed, zip off the soiled one, zip on the clean one, takes about a minute (change and go). Periodically, say once every 2- 4 weeks remove the main cover for washing and wipe the PVC over with an anti bacterial cleaner like Milton.

Top tip, when you put the main cover back put it back so the topper zip is facing the other side of the mattress, you will extend the life of the mattress this way and even out the wear

• The cover and toppers can be machine washed at 60° the temperature needed to kill dust mites, and help to avoid baby asthma. When the cover comes out of a fast spin washing machine it is virtually dry - just an airing or a very light tumble and it is back in use.
  
  

We designed and produced this mattress because of significant customer demand

There are still some fears surrounding the toxic gas theory first presented in the late 80's. The supporters of this theory claimed that if body fluids reached the mattress core then they react with some fire reardancey chemicals in the mattress and may cause a gas to be given off called Stibine gas. There was a claim that Stibine gas when breathed or absorbed by a sleeping baby, can cause cot death or sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). These claims have not been 100% scientifically proven nor disproven. Our Safeguard mattress prevents these gases from forming.
